Creating
Short Links

Shorten any URL in seconds. Learn how the link shortener works, what fields are available, and how to create your first short link.

How It Works

The Lnkk.it link shortener turns any long URL into a compact, shareable link in the format lnkk.it/abc123. Each shortened link tracks clicks and generates a QR code automatically. You can also use custom aliases for branded URLs.

Enter the long destination URL in the "Destination URL" field. This is the only required field.

Optionally set a title, custom alias, expiration date, or custom domain.

4

Hit "Create Short Link". Your new link appears at the top of your list, ready to copy and share.

Link Fields

5 fields available when creating or editing a link

Destination URL

REQUIRED

The long URL you want to shorten — the only required field. URLs are auto-normalized (https:// is added if missing).

Title

OPTIONAL

Optional label for your link. Makes it easier to find in your library. Auto-fetched from the page if left empty.

Custom Alias

OPTIONAL

Replace the random code with a memorable word, e.g. lnkk.it/my-brand. Must be unique.

Expiration Date

OPTIONAL

Set an optional expiry. After this date the link stops redirecting and shows as "Expired".

Custom Domain

OPTIONAL

Choose a verified custom domain instead of lnkk.it (Pro feature).
